There can be some advantages to buying a used certified car from a new car dealer. Most vehicle manufactures have certification programs but there are some differences from one manufacturer to another. Audi Used Certified Pre-owned Vehicle Qualifications
Each car manufacturer has a basic set of rules for the minimum qualifications of pre-owned certification status. The basic rules for all manufacturers include age limits, and mileage limits. Each vehicle must also pass a comprehensive vehicle inspection.

Audi’s certified pre-owned inspection report covers over 300 areas of exterior, interior under car and mechanical components. The dealer must correct any discrepancies or the vehicle cannot be certified. Audi boost that this is the most rigorous inspection in the industry. While researching other vehicle manufacturers certified used vehicle inspection reports, none were found that even covered more than 200 components.
Audi Pre-Owned Certified Warranty Coverage
A new Audi comes with a 4-year or 50,000 miles (which ever comes first) limited warranty. When a new certified pre-owned Audi is purchased, the vehicle assumes the remainder of the new limited warranty. Once the new car limited warranty expires, the certified used warranty takes over. The certified used Audi program has a 2-year and up to 50,000 miles limited warranty, with a maximum of 100,000 total miles.
