Even though the new car transferrable warranty time and mileage is very similar among luxury car manufacturers, there are some major differences in certified pre-owned coverage. With the exception of Acura, all other manufacturers have a mileage limit of 100,000 miles. The 100,000-mile limit is the total vehicle miles, the actual odometer reading.

Some used certified vehicle warranties require a deductable be paid for each covered repair visit as noted below. Acura also has an additional powertrain warranty up to 7 years or 100,000 miles. Like new vehicles warranties, there are some differences in component coverage between manufacturers, however the majority of vehicle components are covered.

- Audi – Balance of new car warranty plus 2 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first, $50 deductable)

There are certainly some advantages to buying a luxury certified used vehicle. A new leased vehicle could also be another option for a lower monthly payment.
